Timber Creek Independent: More Than Drums in a Gym.

I'm very excited to be a part of Timber Creek Independent (TCI) for my age-out season in 2010. We have a great show lined up for next season, titled "Censored." In a nutshell, the show is a social commentary regarding censorship in our every day lives. Read the full story to see how you can be part of our show and exercise your freedom of speech.
TCI has an unofficial slogan, "more than drums in a gym." Unlike other WGI indoor percussion groups, TCI connects with the audience and lets them be part of the experience. Be sure to check out ToBeCensored.com periodically. Eventually, you'll be able to post your own commentary, influencing our show.

The following is Timber Creek Independent's official press release:
"TCI 2010: Censored
From the design team that brought you The Way Up and Videotape comes TCI’s 2010 program Censored.
Inspired by the words of figures including President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Philosopher Joseph Tussman, and Musician Frank Zappa, TCI will present the debate and allow the audience to draw a personal conclusion as to the necessity or hindrance of censorship.
Continuing the trend of exploring relevant societal themes, Censored will feature music from the French composer and pianist Erik Satie, as well as hip-hop legends Beastie Boys. The censorship theme will integrate into musical and visual phrases, at times not letting you see what you want to see or hear what you want to hear.
As the ensemble prepares for its second full season in the World Class, they look forward to again making the trip to Dayton, Ohio in April 2010 for WGI World Championships.
In addition to the visual and musical production, the show will again be accompanied by online content to enhance the viewer’s experience. Follow along with articles and other media at www.tobecensored.com.
Pushing the ensemble’s goals past the confines of gymnasium walls, TCI will use their 2010 production to reach into the community and make a positive difference. No matter your age, location, or musical abilities, you will have the opportunity to become a part of TCI’s show and join in on this community project. Please stay tuned for details here at the website and on our other internet portals for information about this portion of the show. Big announcement coming soon.
What needs to be censored?"
